a rain of stars

falls on the thirsty earth

portents

watching the sky

listening to hunting owls

calling down the stars

from moonset to cockcrow

I watch the star blanket shift

learning to let go

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. The astronomer in the radio said to wait until the moon set because it’s bright at the moment. Moonset is around 4am! I woke at 4 anyway so I watched for an hour until I had seven stars. It was a bit cloudy. I’d have probably seen as many watching earlier when the moon was up but the sky was clear. Some of them were really bright.
