Old as the night

Old as the night are the voices that speak from the dark,

sharp as star-fire, bright as the pale faces of daisies.

Wise the words that once spoke gentle

with comfort for those fearful of what walked unseen,

now furious as the fiercest flames for the willfully blind.

Let there be light, man said, and with his fierce flame

he has burned up the earth.

Old and wise and thunder-dark are the voices

that we will not hear, as we slip from the edge

of this was-Eden, drifting like ash into the comfortless void

that awaits the self-destroyed.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. She’s a phenomenon. She has the establishment figures quaking in their boots because what she says is irrefutable, and she speaks for a generation that unlike Trump and his cohorts will still be alive when the earth really bites back. They’re afraid of her because she’s right. She doesn’t have any answers, says that’s their job. She’s only putting them face to face with their responsibilities.

      2. Anyone who post a tweet defending her gets a cascade of hate tweets. I know it’s not the same thing as getting a fist full of fingers in your face, but it’s intimidating. How must she feel?
