A butterfly cinquain for Colleen’s weekly prompt.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. Don’t think so, Jane! 😉 The humanity of the Western Territories is once again on the recycling trip. Instead of a bottle mail for example, Asia gets plastic waste (with informative labels). I once heard years ago that there was similar rubbish in a damaged punching ball – Made in Korea. Call it “payback”. Lol Michael

  1. What a great take on the photo, Jane. Litter is indeed, litter! LOL! By un-romanticizing the bottle with the message you gave the image a totally different meaning. I love it! ❤

    1. I am such a cynic and amateur detective. That bottle is far too clean and new looking to have an old message in it 🙂 And who wants to get involved with the kind of people who put messages in bottles for fun and expect you to phone them up and congratulate them?

  2. I had to go look at the photo. And now I’m smiling, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to see the picture any other way (I would definitely look). (K)

    1. I’m not sure I would. It looks far too new and shiny. I probably would do the good citizen act either though and put it in a litter bin. Not that beaches have litter bins…

      1. What if it was from someone with too much leisure time and too little to occupy it wanting you to get in touch and start a beautiful friendship based on your absolutely mindblowing discovery? Throw it back in the sea?

      2. I don’t think it’s irrational. I never answer my phone if I don’t recognize the number. If they know me, they have other ways to get in touch.

  3. I would probably read the message because I’d be curious, but I’d put the bottle in recycling. I’m glad I didn’t read yours before I wrote mine though. 🙂
