Tanka Tuesday: Spell & Treat

A butterfly cinquain for Colleen’s weekly challenge. The word ‘spell’ comes from the Old English for a tale or narrative.

Story,

incantation

that enthrals with magic,

a gift of the wind that blows through

the stars,

scatters the broken light of space

into our wondering

eyes, filling hearts

with joy.

  1. Jane, this is a truly magical butterfly cinquain! Many pagan spells are written in poetic rhyme with the understanding that the spoken word holds power. I think the oracle gave you a peek at where that source is. Excellent. ❤
