I like those lines π
Thanks Willow. I miss not seeing sparrows though.
No , I see loads of them π
They only live in gardens now, I think. They’ve all abandoned the countryside π¦
That would explain why I have a glut and you have a dearth ππ
Could be. They have them in the town but they never venture down our way. Real townies π
Yes easy pickings π
π
They’re not entirely still, but it makes me happy when I hear the bird choirs in the spring. We’ve had a fairly mild winter so far. I hope we don’t get blasted in February and March.
No, they don’t stop twittering here either, but only the thrush seems to sing all year round. I hope you don’t get a winter blast either!
Thank you! Yes, more like twitters rather than full concerts. π
True. They save their strength I suppose π
I guess you’re right. I hadn’t thought of that, but yes, that could be it.
There are lots of them around here. I often wonder where they find hiding places, especially on the cold days. I guess they’ve morphed in being city birds:)
Love your poem Jane.
Pat
Thanks Pat π I don’t know what birds do at all in the winter. Nests are only for eggs and chicks. They must be tougher than they look.
Yep, they clearly know how to adapt.. more so than we doπ
Even wrapped up in warm clothing we die if we sleep out in the real cold. Yet blue tits manage it. Weird.
That is true. Nature does what it does. We’re just along for the ride.π
Seems that way π

The last line did it for me. π
