Another florescence sequence.
I saw no stars falling,
heard no sirens calling,
no winged horse, I’m trawling through sea-dreams.
A blue barque with white sail,
a fish hawk with red tail,
an ocean with blue whale and green waves
wait on the edge of sleep,
silent fish dart in deep
waters, where flowers weep their goodbyes.
Wow. This is moving. I loved the imagery and how the piece touched those senses.
To be very very honest, I did not quite understand what the poem meant, but it made me feel things, and sometimes those feelings speak so much about a poem than the words do. So thank you for this amazing poetry.
Thank you! The poem is just really a string of images evoking falling into a sleep that is just an ordinary sleep, but like all sleep, it’s full of fantastic dreams.
My pleasure. That’s a wonderful thing, now that I get it. I really appreciate the description here. It’s so vivid and evocative. You must have some really great time dreaming.
I do sometimes, but more often I dream of really horrible things with lots of blood. I don’t know what that says about me…
I’m sorry to hear. I am not much of a dream expert, I however can assure it doesn’t say anything wrong about you. I hope it gets better. Till then, let’s embrace the color of dreams in all possible shades of blue, green and in this case, blood red. After all, this life may in itself be a dream.
The world is full of horrors, so maybe letting the images come out in a dream that isn’t a nightmare, just faintly sad, is a way of coping. Last night I dreamed that we watched a dog chase our cat and pull off all her fur and her tail. The images were really gore, but I didn’t feel more than sad in the dream. Strange.
Evocative, like a teaser for what awaits.
I always hope for this kind of dream or future or something. I often just get gore though.
I love the colors and images of this. Very dream-like.
Thanks 🙂 It’s all colour, like some dreams that don’t mean anything when you try and piece them together afterwards.
Yes, I often have a sense of the colors in a dream when I wake up, but I can’t explain what happened in “the story.” 😀
There must be a proper analysis of dreams, not just the crank theories. I’d love to know what they mean.
My friend and I years ago used to notice that we had house/construction dreams when we had issues that we were trying to work on. And I used to have dreams with lots of red in them around my period. 😀
That sounds logical. I used to dream of houses a lot, but I can’t remember what was going on at the time. Could well have been we were thinking of moving again 🙂
I dream of blood a lot.
I think lately my dreams have been of being confused. 😏
Mine are usually too gory to want to talk about.
Really like a dream, a good dream indeed. Thank you, Jane! Enjoy your evening. Michael
Thank you, Michael 🙂
