Night closes about the timid,
the mouse-hearted,
bird-nervous,
and it pads soft
as the anaesthetist’s rubber soled shoes,
bringing the solace
of silver and silence
to the dear departed.

It’s an uneasy time for the world. Whatever the outcome, it’s frightening how close the voting has been. I read that Black and Latino voters for Trump had actually increased.
I just don’t understand. Apparently in Florida, Latino voters are afraid of “socialism.” How anyone can believe a word he says is beyond me.
None of them can ever have looked up the word ‘socialism’ and then looked up Joe Biden.
No, they’re totally ignorant. They just believe what Trump and his gang say.
But why believe him and not the Democrats? If it’s a question of blind faith, you still pick which blind faith you go for.
They’re already wedded to Trump, and I guess only listen to Fox news and similar sites.
Ignorance is always at the root of the problem. That and money.

You’re asking the wrong person because it’s totally incomprehensible to me.
I firmly believe that people’s political ‘convictions’ are determined by which party will give them the most money. Colour doesn’t come into it or gender. It’s not about ideals, just cash benefits.

Just the title is so apt. I feel I will be pacing the night forever. (K)
There just seems to be so little compassion or even empathy around.
Practically none it seems.
We’re being told here that Biden can still win. As my second daughter said though this evening, even if he does, it still means almost half the votes went to Trump even after four years of proving what an uncivilised pox bottle he is.
Not only that, but the Republicans will still control the Senate. So depressing. If it goes to the Supreme Court, they will give it to Trump, no matter what the vote count says. Just like with Bush.
All those states still counting have mad hordes screaming fraud. They’ll keep screaming even if Biden wins all of them.
Btw, I thought when I got up this morning they’d have finished counting in Nevada. How many people live there? I thought it was mostly desert.
Las Vegas is huge…all that gambling.
