Winter sun sevenling

south-field

The sun shines in bland bands
of bleak light, weak-warm
and the yellow lost its heart.

It falls flat and famished
across the wintry green,
and I look to the hollows in the hedge

for rags of the soft night.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. You mean the end of the corridor with a shower and a washbasin behind a door? That bathroom?
It’s lovely today glorious warm sunshine so it’s heated up the indoors a little. 19°C outside, 14°C in the kitchen A bit less in the bedroom. I can cope with that as long as there’s sun. And a stove in the study to get it up to 20°.
