earth iron-hard
gleams frost-glittered in the light

will this grass furred and crisp
ever flow wave-green again?

It will…but their is beauty in the frost glittering. (K)
Beautiful, like a painting.

Jane, what a great description of frost on grass: “furred and crisp.” Spring lies in wait… โค
Thanks Colleen ๐ Can’t come soon enough for me!
Happy New Year, Jane. โค
And you! Hope it’s the start of a good year for you.
It will be. We leave for Michigan on Monday. I grew up in Wisconsin which is nearby. It feels like going home. โค
Let’s hope that’s how it turns out ๐
An excellent tanka!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
