Quick the light is changing

after dawn of watery gloom and noon
of crow-call and the sweep of buzzards’ wings

the evening spills a palette of oiled light
firing the damp green emerald bright
and daring the velvet star-dimpled night.

  1. It captures for me that softening of everything that comes with the cool and wet of winter, the greening and early sunset, the night sky, wonderful.
