And all the roses frozen
caught tight in winter’s tide
the soft white fur belies
the death inside
touched by cold sun
softening worm-brown
reclaimed.

That’s a beautiful photo and word-painting
Thanks Ingrid. This is the coldest we’ve ever had it here. -5°C last night!
🥶 we’re on the coast and it’s a balmy 8 degrees! 😎
We had 14°C yesterday 😦 1°C at present.
lovely contrasts of texture and colour that is weathering these roses
They never stop flowering. I don’t know what’s wrong with them, but these are well and truly finished.
Lovely words and photo, but it still made me kind of sad. New ones will bloom though. 😀
“the soft white fur belies
the death inside”
It’s sad in that they have been so brave! The roses never stop flowering. Well I think we can say they’ve stopped now!
Yes. Our geraniums held out for a really long time, too.
We still have one in flower, the only one I brought indoors because it had buds on it.
Wow – that is gorgeous. I just watched some Disney movies about fairies with my six-year-old, and apparently, frost can protect things from the ice and cold!
Yours,
David
It’s funny, I heard something similar just recently, I think it was about protecting fruit trees from frost by spraying them with water in the evening. The ice that forms keeps the buds warm. Weird, but then, nature is wonderful 🙂
Great photo, poetically and beautifully illustrated. Wow!⚘
Thank you, Suzette. We have another four days of this (if you believe the forecast) so we’ll see how the buds are doing then.
Hope the weather warms. Have a comfy cozy day.❤
Thanks. The sun’s out at least 🙂
Very beautiful poetry and picture
Thank you 🙂
You’re very welcome

Wonderful 🌼🌄
Thank you!
But so beautiful…(k)
Yes, I’ll give it that.
Winter can just go away already. It’s -20 C here today in Korea. Yuk!
Jesus! That’s bitter!
Just a bit. 😀
Beautiful blog
Thank you!
