Wind in the poplars and the oaks
branch-snapping
like the narrow necks of cranes
high in the buffeted night sky
so full of sounding dark.

offbeat words for you...
Just writing what's on my mind
I really like this–beautiful imagery. ๐
Thank you. I hope that from tomorrow I’ll be writing about something that isn’t wind!
Well, not that I mind wind, but I hope so, too–for your sake!
It’s stopping! Blew ferociously all night but it’s a lot calmer now, gusts but in-between it’s a steady breeze. The light is dim though.
Yay! It’s snowing here–really coming down, but it’s supposed to turn to rain this afternoon.
Sounds exciting! It’s just murk here ๐ฆ cold breeze no rain no sun just murk.
This is definitely prettier than murk, but the novelty of snow has worn off–and then when it turns to rain, it will just be cold and icky. ๐
That’s the drawback. Icky and slippery and splashy.
It looks like it’s already changing over. I’d rather have snow than sleet and freezing rain.
I’d rather have sunshine…
Well, yes. . .๐
It’s promised for tomorrow. Crossing fingers…
๐ค
An intriguing few lines. Especially the last!
Thank you, Judy. We’re living through a wind phenomenon at the moment. Not like the gales we had a couple of months ago, but constant, strong wind with wild noisy gusts for days on end. I think it’s supposed to stop tomorrow. Then we get rain.
Very effective!
Lovely Haiku-esque – full of the season and the trees and the birds, their long limbs…
We were having really wild march skies until the wind got up and covered everything in this dim half-light. I hope it will lift tomorrow.
The sounding dark conjures a vivid image. (K)
It was like being under the ocean.
A strange world.
And now the sun is back. Hooray!
It’s supposed to make an appearance here tomorrow.
Very beautiful indeed ๐๐น
I’m pleased you think so ๐
