Painting by Franz Marc.

Away we are bound to go;
life stream pulls like moon tides
and the storm that blusters in the wind.

Above, the leaves stream,
beaten and lost.
Trees wave them goodbye;
the rest will not be far behind.

A hare raced across the sunny bank,
chased by the clouds,
and the bright glitter
of last night’s raindrops fled.

Into my listening ears,
the rain whispers a story
of oceans and rivers,
the journeys some will make,

but the songs that pour
from unseen bird-throats
never falter;

they have heard it all before.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. Most artists, when you learn a bit about them, were not very good human beings. Franz Marc was sensitive and compassionate and he didn’t deserve to be butchered in a senseless war. Makes me angry.

      2. Hope someone will hear your wishes, Jane! Today since 5 a.m. only rain, but with degrees around 20. 😉 Will we become a rainforest, soon? Lol Enjoy the rest of the Sunday, Jane xx

      3. Maybe this will happen, Jane! But honestly, after wood has got an increasing price, we over the last two years have had lost much of the trees. xx Thank you, Jane! Have also a beautiful week! Michael
