    1. Usually they cut the hay a two or three weeks earlier and leave it to dry out in the sun before baling it up. This year because of the bad weather they’ve had to cut and bale in 48 hours. Storms are back tomorrow night apparently.

  1. Memories of my Mum here Jane, watching ‘the doughnut machine’ when we lived in the cottage. Now I can’t see hay bales without thinking of her standing in the window that day in utter awe of it all.
