Happy?

I tried the new ‘Happiness’ word set, and frankly, I’m not overjoyed. Three ‘happiness’, plus a ‘happy’, a ‘laugh’, two ‘laughter’, two ‘rainbow’ endless ‘sun’, ‘shine’ and ‘sunshine’ and there’s even a single tile of ‘blue sky’. There is such a thing as egging the pudding.

Happiness by the yard

The warmth of between shines
beneath the dark above.
Enigmaticยฌโ€”
shall we try for wonder,
the full sunshines of the weather report?
Will she give her heart to this one or to that?

All this dancing together hand in hand,
this spring of love and laughter
sounds like wishing, a desire to be surprised
by everything.

Life must be fun,
a procession of days without rain,
endless smiles, starry skies,
and we always dare to eat that peach.

Bluebirds and rainbows, unicorns too, no doubt
and love-flowers press us to enjoy, look away
and forget.

But barefoot bliss is strewn with the jagged fragments
of those dreams that never came true,
the nagging hand in the back,
pushing to the edge and whispering,
Jump.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. The word choice is pretty predictably and unoriginally ‘happy’ . I mean, you could have words like forest, child, ship, ocean, flight, bird etc etc. They’re happy too.

  1. I absolutely agree with you. Interesting you got many of the same words as me, but with a warning. To demand happiness all the time is folly.
My guess is that they will be switching around the sets every once in awhile to try to get people to purchase them. I have a bunch of magnetic words from my daughter’s old sets and ones people gave me. Perhaps I’ll dig into those next week. I seem to remember them as being pretty generic, which is probably not a bad thing.

    1. I suppose the sets that you can buy are ‘richer’ than what’s offered for free. You need magical gifts to pick a meaningful message out of these at the best of times.

      1. I don’t have any complete sets to compare, but I have a good selection of words. I’m sure the Oracle will help in the same way she does with the collage box words.

      2. The online sets are all full of repeat words. I used to find it useful to have lots of ‘the’ ‘is’ ‘what’ common words, but they don’t inspire, they’re just the nuts and bolts and we can find them for ourselves.
