Waking to changing light
To wake to sunlight is a joy,
too rare in these troubled days, when the sky murmurs
reproach in the trembling of the poplar leaves,
the orioles have flown with their flutes,
the Petit-Ducs, and the dawns are quiet,
listening for the fall of the leaves.
All my poems are about the three days of fog !
And bingo, that’s what we had this morning!
Lovely lines–I like the sky murmuring reproach. . .I’m glad you have sunlight. It looks beautiful in your photo.
Now that it’s August, it’s dark when I wake up, and right now it’s raining, so it’s gloomy–but quiet.
Thank you 🙂 We had half a day of sun. It got hot, 90°F ish, and we have thick cold mist this morning. Linking up with you, I expect!
We’re supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon and rain and thunderstorms all day tomorrow. It’s from the hurricane that’s supposed to hit New England. I may try to get a walk in now before the rain.
Has the hurricane hit yet? We’ve got weak sunshine now and still the light wind blowing—up to no good!
I think it’s supposed to hit Sunday and Monday. We had a beautiful sky this morning–now the sun is playing peekaboo–in and out, and it’s kind of steamy. I hope your wind behaves! 😀
Sounds like something on the way! It’s only a light wind here, but the air is unstable, hot one minute, cool the next.
Oh, sounds like there is something. I hope you don’t get anything too bad. Sometimes I can feel it when the pressure drops.
Didn’t get anything out of the ordinary. Just cloud and drizzle…
That’s good.😀
Sun?
Well, sun is good, too. 😀
We have it today. Not sure if it will be warm though.
It’s going to be hot here, and hotter tomorrow–I’ll try to pass some sunshine heat to you. 😀
It’s okay if it stays like this, about 85°F. Pleasant. Your kind of hot would probably be not quite so pleasant 🙂
That’s true. We ate outside today at a restaurant but it was in a shaded wooded area, and it was quite pleasant. Even our walk afterward wasn’t too hot, but I think tomorrow it’s going to be hotter.
Treasure it. It won’t last!
No, it won’t.
