Frozen morning

Frozen morning

The day is so cold,
the words freeze in my mouth,
drift like fog in this wintry air,

and no light relieves the chill
of frost-furred stalks.
Rime writes a cold story
across these fields

where no bird sings,
and nothing stirs this pause in time,
to reveal the dark dance of the stars.

    1. It’s been going down to around 20°F at night and yesterday it hung around 30°, the coldest it’s been so far. Today is a bit ‘warmer’ but the house is freezing. 59° in the warm room, 37° in the small bedroom. It’s supposed to go back to normal after the weekend. If we live that long…

I’m in the warm room with the stove—59°F. The coldest bedroom is 37°F, same as outside! The beauty of stone houses…

  1. Oh, looking at this photo make me feeling much more colder. 😉 In your area you can have hope for better climatic conditions soon. But here there will nothing change before the end of May. Whoever decided living here could not go anywhere else. Lol xx Michael

    1. Oh, until May! Poor you. It is supposed to be over today, changing to milder wetter weather. I’m at the end of my tether with it, not been able to sleep my face was so cold…
