Behind the eyes, the migraine flicker,
grainy film, silent, rapid, disjointed.
Night, eyes wide, the film reels on.

Window-framed, lightning flashes,
silent storm, a whole sky white hot,
starless, eaten by fire.

Dawn drenches without turning off the light.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I hope your tummy isn’t doing flip flops also. I keep a small bag of frozen peas in the freezer that I hold to the side of my head when a migraine hits (wrapped in a tea towel so I don’t get frostbite). I hope it passes soon, Jane.

  2. I’ve had a couple sleepless headachy nights, but nothing so intense as a migraine. I don’t know how you manage it. Fingers crossed it’s leaving soon. (K)

    1. Thanks Kerfe. It’s so tiring. We were supposed to be going to Bordeaux today to see an exhibition and visit children and grandchild. Maybe next week while our dog-sitter is still here.

    1. Thank you 🙂
They could be. It was so hot again yesterday and there was a storm in the night. For a long time it was just lightning flickering, then there was a bit of rain. It’s still hot though today, and sunny.
