About

Since forever I’ve been a writer. As of June 2013, I will be a published writer.

First book out with be ‘The Dark Citadel’, first volume of ‘The Green Woman’ trilogy. The second and third volumes are all ready to go, so the cliffhanger endings won’t be too painful.

‘Wormholes’ is a different kettle of fish entirely and will have to wait in the wings awhile. It’s a two part story, again it’s all finished bar the shouting so readers won’t have to wait for me to write another book to find out what happens next.

Finding the time to write has always been the major problem. Children have been the inspiration and the incentive to write. They have also been the main obstacle. Now they are old enough to fend for themselves, and despite the growing numbers of feline and canine time-consumers, I have the luxury of some time to myself.

    1. Ha ha! The whole thing needs an overhaul. It looked like the beginning of something beautiful and ended up with the reality of the world of publishing which is still the snobby, exclusive institution it has always been.

      1. I’m partly shocked and partly smiling but mostly in complete agreement. But then again, the profit motive? But then again, it’s a beautiful day – why bother bothering. 🙂

      2. Haha – you have a very lovely and self-depreciating sense of humour, Jane. I would love to be more self-depreciating, but I can barely spell the word, much less evoke the feeling within me. Too much ego. Bane of my life. [sigh]

      3. No, you can’t spell it. It’s self-deprecating 🙂
I don’t have illusions about myself. I know I’m not the kind who are successful at anything you can make money out of. I have lovely children though.

      4. My mother thought we were all wonderful. I wish sometimes she’d have thought we were a bit less wonderful and shoved us a bit harder to get sensible qualifications instead.

      5. Qualifications are easy. You can start now. 🙂 I was never encouraged into anything by my parents, but I’ve just finished my masters (in Creative Writing). I’m thinking about a PhD (but not too hard – I wouldn’t want to get a headache).

      6. Well done you! I hope you use your bit of paper profitably.
We all have qualifications but mostly of the arty sort that were fun at the time but don’t get you a job. Never mind, fun’s fun and always worth having.

      7. I used my marketing degree in my second career (sales and marketing) then my Computing with Psychological Studies degree in my current career (software development) and I’m going to use my Creative Writing MA in my next career as a World Famous Author. And, yeah, I know what you’re thinking: I need all the luck I can get! 😆😂🤣

      8. You’re one of the people I resent horribly when they write a best-selling novel. You’ve got a good job, you earn enough money, why not let us poverty-stricken artists in leaky garrets have a shot at the best-seller business?
