Tongue of black swans

I started on a magnet poem earlier, but the Oracle wiped it clean. This is the second attempt, which seems to have been approved.

into a petalled rose,

storm still lake water

with shadow music,

the whispered tongue

of black swans.

Some sweet sadness

Four magnet poems from the oracle.

swept like rain

or honey,

driven, tongue-licked,

through the rose-petal sky,

when you said,

Spring is singing,

but we face the storm.

or ice, steely starred,

smile wild and ferocious,

salt as fish-dazzled ocean,

fill the hole in my heart

with the breath of morning

and the perfume of flowers.

dance the sun and stars,

touch the morning with hope,

listen to the heart’s life grow

under the blue eye

of this quiet sky.

the wild things climb

through dusky dark

to watch the moon

bloom, a frost rose,

and dawn fall

soft as a berry

into the grass.

It was a real struggle to get that first magnet poem. The words I wanted just weren’t there, as if the oracle had other ideas. It was such a struggle I gave it another go, and she banged this one out with no hesitation.

red as fever,

dark as sacred magic,

wild star,

smoke in its wake,

dances over the sky—

Beneath the sea

It’s Saturday, so it’s time to play with the fridge magnets again. This is the second week of Elusive Trope’s magnetic poetry challenge. Here’s what I came up with. Luckily I took the screen shot before I saved it…and the last line jumped to the top.

Beneath the sea

shadows watch

diamonds rust

in deathless sleep.

Sing sweetly to their music,

dream away time,

smelling a forest of roses.
