We had yet another tremendous storm last night that went on for hours. So long in fact that Finbar got fed up lying curled up (and cowering) on the rug next to our bed and went back to his own bed.
Storm tide ebbs leaving
The sky’s ocean cloud-furrowed
Scents of last night’s rain.
Ah, I love storms and I love your haiku. Poor Finbar. Sounds like he’s not much of a fan of storms.
Finbar hates storms, but he’s so angular he can’t get comfy on the floor. In the end his bones won out over his fears.
You have an arresting eye JD and your image compels…
Waves flow through the sky
Lightpole stretches to see
and beams in pleasure
And you have a great eye for spotting the fly in the ointment 🙂 I chose the picture because the clouds were just right. I could have done without the lamp post thing.
Love the idea of such an ugly thing beaming with pleasure.
