For Sacha Black’s themed 52 word challenge, the only trump I care to think about. And it worked out at 52 words exactly with no editing.
Nellie had packed her trunk and turned her back on the circus. At last she was free. She trundled down the leafy lane with a song in her heart that exploded in a wild trumpety trump, trump, trump…
From the picnic site goggle-eyed children surged. “Look! The runaway elephant!”
Nellie was buggered.
Le pauvre 😔
Actually, Nellie remembered that among her things she’d packed her trunk sabre, so she fitted it, scythed through the children and galloped (trundled) to freedom over the border into elephant land.
This makes me very happy 🐘 😁
That’s why I told you 🙂
Definitely a better trump. (K)
*titters*
You shouldn’t mock. Circus elephants get a rotten deal.
Me mock… never I would carry ‘water for elephants’ any day *thinks* well I have read the book and watched the film ‘water for elephants’ and tortured the song on occasion too. 😎😃
Good. I wouldn’t like to think that anyone would be applauding a bunch of ignorant snot noses getting a poor elephant sent back inside.
ah you take me back – mind you its a bloody ear-worm as I’ll be hearing that stupid song all day now…
It’s not a stupid song! It’s an anthem for circus elephants everywhere, and Nellie is an icon.
I never saw you as a supporter of big tent cruelty.. shame!!!
How could you tarnish my name like that! Nellie is an icon of liberation and a beacon of hope for her comrades languishing in chains.
Subliminal, with the runaway elephant? 😉
Nellie did get away and is now living with a nice herd in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Meanwhile, ours is about to take up residence in a white house.
You’d have been better off with Nellie.
GENIUS, this is what I love about these challenges, I’d only thought of two options, this wasn’t one of them. I used to love this song as a kiddie 😀 thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I loved it too. It has unfortunate connotations now though 😦
