Between bee and rain

Last night’s storm has subsided into dreary, unbroken rain, but the oracle has produced some uplifting verses this morning with very little prompting. As usual, one from each of four word sets.

You ask: are the shadows lifting?

Does light never shine on this black rock?

Storm screams still.

Will we see the roses blow,

petals shot with pink and honey

before sleep comes?

My heart beats for you,Screen Shot 2017-06-03 at 12.01.31

from here to eternity,

sailing slow

on a perfumed sea—

red sky smiles,

peace in its kiss,

salt secrets in its voice.

Blue is best,Screen Shot 2017-06-03 at 12.06.33

says the sky,

star song singing,

flowers dance,

sweet and strong.

Will you let in their light?

we walk in the thick grass

of the river path,

listen to secret rustlings

as wild roses bloom

between bee and rain.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
