Gardening thoughts


We sow children
feed and water them
watch them grow

dig the earth
plant
water
watch things grow

feed water coax tend
and the leaves unfurl
the hands with fingers

to grasp grab bruise
or touch and gently enfold
their piece of the world.

    1. Wrestling with heavy soil, drawing water up from the well, pruning back the invasive stuff to give new things a chance, made me think we don’t have much control over what grows once we’ve started the process! And it’s hard work to get any result at all πŸ™‚
