Today’s poem for Paul Brookes’ April challenge is inspired by Sanderling by John Law. You can see all the images and poems here.
Bird on the beach
Timeless the sands
where cloud-birds sail
gull-waves fold soft as doves
foam and feathers
in pale sun-washed pebbles
shell-bleached
and crushed into crumbs
scattered to pigeons.
There’s such a dreamy feel to this. I suppose the ephemeral nature of clouds and crumbs on a beach.
Thank you. I loved this image. Reminded me of northern beaches. No sand, just masses of pebbles 🙂
It’s such a great image.
It is 🙂
Reblogged this on The Wombwell Rainbow.
Thank you Paul!
What a beautiful picture. Great response.
Thank you. It is lovely. A real foretaste of summer.
Oh damn, it’s snowing again here.
Thank you, Jane! I am really awaiting summer, and summer feelings. At least you have the vineyards, but we only have the stones. These only show the summer when they get warm. 😉
It’s chilly here too! We’re still getting negative temperatures at night, and a lot of the fruit trees have been frozen.
Congrats, Jane! Here its dayover like during the night. Only some days the sun is shining a little bit brighter.
It’s supposed to start getting warmer from Sunday. They’ve said this before…
Here i had read it too, on internet forcast. Lets hope they are not again lying. 😉 Best wishes, Michael
You too, and hope it thaws soon for you 🙂
It does look like it just washed up on the beach. (K)
