Microfiction challenge #3: Shapes in the mist

Here’s the image for this week’s challenge. It’s by Josef Chelmonski but I can’t find the reference on Wiki.

What is happening? Are these birds or prehistoric flying reptiles? Are we in a dream, a fog, a war zone? Are they searching for carrion or are they on a more innocent mission? Is this a nightmare scene or one of peace? I leave you to describe it in 200 words or less. The theme, if you want one is

uncharted waters

You have until next Wednesday to post the link to your story in the comments section below. The round up is Thursday, and the next theme on Friday. Happy writing!

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I coloured way outside the lines, lol. But I made it by Wednesday.
I pose some questions for you about my approach. I love constructive criticism so critique away.
Thanks for hosting this. I look forward to the round up and next picture.
