Haiku challenge: Excite & Karma

For Ronovan’s haiku challenge. A tanka rather than a haiku this week.

A leaf’s destiny,

burst bud, tender green unfurled,

flies red in the wind.

Hear the wild voice of autumn,

riotous among the flames.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. Your poem paints a beautiful picture the life journey of a leaf. When the leaves turn in fall, I’ll thin of “the wild voice of autumn, riotous among the flames.” Lovely imagery throughout.
