Cherry blossom

1024px-Rippl_Sour_Cherry_Tree_in_Blossom_1909

The cherry blossom’s falling

In a blaze of glory,

Pure white flakes

From a feu de joie,

Hommage to the spring,

And sweet autumn promise

Of blood red fruits.

  1. Our neighbors in Germany had a huge cherry tree! I would sit on the balcony and admire it–and now I’m thinking these spring blossom times are too short. Thank goodness for words to make them last. 🙂
